MPS (Microcurrent Point Stimulation) Scar Release Therapy is a FDA cleared and Health Canada Licensed, gentle, non-invasive treatment applied to a scar using a Dolphin Neurostim® MPS device.

This device applies a low-frequency microcurrent stimulation to specific points along and around a scar.

The goal is to help reduce restrictions within the scar tissue, improve mobility, decrease discomfort, and accelerate tissue healing.

What is MPS Scar Release Therapy?

What is a Scar?

  • A scar is the body’s natural way of repairing damaged tissue when it cannot fully restore the area to its original state.

  • It forms when the body produces collagen and other connective tissue to fill and strengthen the damaged area.

  • Scar tissue is different from normal tissue because its collagen fibers are arranged differently.

  • This means a scar acts more like a reinforced patch than a perfect replacement for the original tissue.

Scars create underlying tightness and restrictions in surrounding fascia and scar tissue is generally less flexible than normal surrounding tissue.

They develop internal adhesions which can:
  • Bind and restrict deeper tissues (fascia)
  • Affect posture and movement
  • Contribute to chronic pain and dysfunction
  • Impede lymph circulation
  • Activate sympathetic stress
  • Entrap nearby nerves

Scar treatment can also be used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance, texture, and overall visibility of scars.

C-Section Scar Release Therapy

Cesarean section scars can have a deeper impact than many people realize.

Scar tissue forms and extends from the surface affecting the abdominal wall, surrounding fascia and even posture or core function.

Some individuals experience numbness, sensitivity, tightness or a “pulling” sensation long after healing.

Whether your C-section scar was recent or many years ago, our C-section scar release therapy uses MPS to gently address these concerns in a safe and supportive environment.
